entendre * x^(n-1)

And the rhizomes,
reaching,
rent his limbs.
While he waited for
the skies to split
asunder.

------------

alright, now that we've had some days pass, i wanna get to the heart of this one. ambiguity 1: are the rhizomes paying a fee for the temporary use of his arms, or are they ripping the man apart. ambiguity 2 (less certain, tho I'll admit less than perfect certainty for 1 as well): are the skies a cue for his splitting, or does he sit in anticipation of theirs? tell me how close.

  1. Addressing Ambiguity 1: Rhizomes lack a trade-able commodity, thus can earn no income - they are consumers and that is all. If you lie long enough in any one place, decomposing, I imagine that rhizomes will start to eat you, poking through various cracks in your bones.

Addressing Ambiguity 2: While the hypothesis that the narrator will be torn apart naturally flows from the first stanza (being that it speaks of rent limbs), I regret to inform you that this is not the case. For although many have been drawn and quartered (either by livestock or springy green saplings), it's not quite what I had in mind. In this case the skies will split open. But what ushers forth from the rift?
